Benjamin Moore's Webster Green completes 2027's green wave
With Webster Green HC-130, Benjamin Moore joins Dulux and Sherwin-Williams in calling green for 2027 — but its version is deeper, moodier and more grown-up.

Some years the colour forecasts disagree wildly. This is not one of those years. On 14 October, Benjamin Moore named Webster Green HC-130 its Color of the Year 2027. That makes it at least the third major paint brand this autumn to pick a green.
The green consensus
The run started in September. Dulux announced Soulful Sage, a soft, silvery grey-green. A week later Sherwin-Williams and HGTV Home chose Celery SW 6421, which they describe as a light, airy herbal green. Benjamin Moore's pick completes the trio, but it heads in a different direction. Webster Green comes from the brand's historical collection, and it reads deeper and more grounded than its spring-fresh rivals.
According to Benjamin Moore, colour expert Andrea Magno said the team kept returning to the green family this year.
A palette, not just a paint
As usual, the announcement comes with a supporting cast. Webster Green anchors an eight-colour palette:
- White Down OC-131, a soft white
- Nelson Blue CW-635
- Shakespeare Tan 228
- Antique Copper 1169
- Wild Aster 1240, a dusky violet
- Durango 2137-30
- Townsend Harbor Brown HC-64
It's a clever set. The blues and violets cool the green down. Copper and tan warm it up. The brown gives it weight. To launch the palette, the brand commissioned illustrations from the artist Tanu Vasu, a reminder that colour stories are increasingly told through art rather than paint chips.
Why green, why now
Read the three announcements side by side and the same words keep coming up: calm, balance, connection and nature. Green has been edging into interiors for several years. What's new is how varied the 2027 greens are. Dulux's sage is for lightness, Sherwin-Williams' celery for freshness, and Benjamin Moore's Webster for depth.
One caution: the colour everyone associates with the phrase "Color of the Year" hasn't been announced. Pantone usually reveals its pick in early December, and the 2026 choice, Cloud Dancer, was a quiet off-white. Don't believe anyone who tells you otherwise before then.
Living with it
You don't need to repaint to join in. A deep green works beautifully as an accent in botanical prints, unfurling ferns or a single olive branch in a frame. Pair it with warm wood and a touch of copper, as the palette suggests, and the room will feel settled rather than trendy.
