Apple's Creator Studio adds AI assistants across its creative apps
A free November update brings Generate Fill to Pixelmator Pro, an intelligent assistant to Logic Pro and built-in motion graphics to Final Cut Pro. Here's what changes for everyday makers.

Apple bundles its pro creative apps into a subscription called Creator Studio. On 27 October the company announced the subscription's biggest update yet. It arrives free for subscribers in November, and the price stays at $12.99 a month or $129 a year. The theme, unsurprisingly, is AI. The details show where creative software is heading.
For video
Final Cut Pro now has motion graphics from MotionVFX built in. That means titles, transitions and animated elements live inside the editor instead of coming from a separate plug-in store. For solo creators, it's one less hurdle between an idea and a finished cut.
For images
Pixelmator Pro gains Generate Fill, the now-familiar trick of selecting part of an image and asking the software to extend, replace or remove what's there. It's a mainstream feature in 2026. Its arrival in a tool many illustrators and photographers already use matters more than the novelty.
For music
Logic Pro gets three changes. There's an intelligent assistant, labelled beta. Stem Splitter can now separate drum parts, which is useful for remixers and anyone learning by ear. And the Browser, where you find sounds and loops, has been redesigned.
For everything else
Keynote, Pages and Numbers get assistants of their own. They also get support for MCP, the Model Context Protocol, an emerging standard that lets AI assistants connect to apps and data. Apple also introduced a new .keyx file format for Keynote.
The bigger picture
It's the latest of several announcements this autumn making the same bet: AI should sit inside the tools creative people already use, not replace them. Comfy put an agent inside node-based image workflows. Google let musicians build their own plug-ins in plain language. Now Apple is weaving assistants through video, photo, music and documents.
There are still open questions, and they're healthy ones. What were the models trained on? Who owns what they generate? Does the help make work better or just faster? The music industry's lawsuits against AI generators show those questions aren't going away.
What it means for makers
For anyone making things on a budget, the practical upshot is good. Pro-grade tools keep getting cheaper and more forgiving. The taste and the ideas are still yours, and that's the part worth investing in.
